I posted the original message, and yes, Joey, like you, I too have in the past questioned the sanity of a particular driver who literally passed me and deliberately cut me off while I was riding my bicycle according to the law on the right side of Church street (6 pm Between Audubon and Trumbull). I was so chocked, and so scared that, when I stopped to catch my breath, I did fall off my bike and could have been hurt by a passing car. The bus was empty and not in service, and the driver obviously very angry at something that was not me. I did follow up with CT transit; someone took note of my comment and was sympathetic, but I did not have the bus number, just a vague description of the driver. It explains why I wrote the bus # down today. CT Transit is responsible for its drivers. Please CT transit, take some internal actions to minimize safety issues like the ones that are being mentioned. Thank you.

There are definitely some problem drivers. Two big problems:

1) Not stopping at stop signs even when pedestrians are crossing. Have seen pedestrians and small children almost get run over.

2) Running red lights indiscriminately.

3) Speeding, especially on routes outside of Downtown. 20MPH should be the max CT Transit travel speed within local roads in New Haven.

4) Drivers who pass bicyclists and then have to either overshoot their bus stops (stopping in the middle of the road and making bus passengers cross another street to get to them), or cutting off the bikers altogether. They should just drive slowly because they do not save any time by attempting to pass a cyclist. The average bus goes about 12MPH across a city and a typical biker travels at about the same speed or slightly faster.

CT Transit should discipline these drivers before they kill more local residents.

It's time to install some of those red-light cameras like they have in other states.

I have repeatedly reported buses running the light at Dixwell Ave and Skiff Street directly to CT Transit. They are sympathetic, however it is smoke and mirrors because the drivers continue to flagrantly violate the traffic laws.

This same bus nearly ran over me on my bike this morning. Veered into the bike lane and ran me into parked cars. Then the driver told me I should get off the road. Seriously, do these drivers have to take an a$$h01e test to get a job with CT Transit?

It's bad..They're bad..We can go there to that empty shell called the hiring practice,or joke of a bargaining agreement - ever google bargaining agreement ? Reflection of the workforce..
But getting back to this, Okay you win,let's get red light cameras,THEN WHAT ? They tell a complainant that it will be all taken care of ? No need to file a complaint it's on film ? What will happen to these offenders ? Who will be the oversight, a brother or sister of a cop or bus driver ? Will they high five each other and wink that Union folk all stick together ,wink wink.
