Description
Directly between 1211 & 1209 Nottoway is an overgrown tree with a root system that has disrupted and raised the existing sidewalk.
Several trees along Nottoway have been replaced with younger trees, yet not this one. It poses a risk to the neighboring homes, it's partially resting on a power line, and should be a prime candidate for removal.
Thank you.

I totally understand. While I am not an arborist, I would assume the tree is healthy. However, this is one of three mature trees along this block that have yet to be replaced. I find it hard to believe every other tree along the street was dead. Lastly, while I appreciate your concern, unless you live at the point in question, it's really not your position to provide a comment.
I would be happy to have the sidewalk repaired and the tree trimmed back. I simply made the request I did because the city literally re-planted several (5+) new trees in the past couple of years.

Oh by all means, I appreciate your having an opinion. It's the fact you felt comfortable essentially arguing against my position.
Ultimately, my concern is the disrupted sidewalk which creates a dangerous situation. In general, the sidewalk is an eyesore and unsafe for those walking (or running) in the area. More important, during the winter the differentiation in levels creates a situation ripe for frozen ice.
Again - if the city is able to repair the sidewalk and trim back the tree, by all means. One of the reasons I love Bellevue is the existence of trees, and I have little desire to remove them completely. I was simply curious as to why certain areas have been replaced en masse (like on the other side of Nottoway) while this remains untouched.
