If the vehicle appears to be operable and is not wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, or discarded and either the Registration or the Inspection is expired, then it is not a Junk Motor Vehicle. Being operable or appearing to be operable (ie: no flat tires, no drive-train hanging under the car, etc.) and having one expired sticker is not a Junk Motor Vehicle. Being wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, or discarded and either the Registration or the Inspection have expired is a Junk Motor Vehicle.

The Code Officer has started cases for the vehicles in the driveway. Information about the vehicle in the street at Pierre and Ponderosa has been forwarded to CSPD.

Update. The Code Officer has spoken to the owner and one vehicle in question is awaiting repairs in order to be made operable; they’re trying to have it repaired this upcoming weekend. All other vehicles are operable or have current registration. Will follow up to ensure the vehicle in question is made operable.

The Code Officer reported that ALL vehicles are currently operable or have current registration and do not meet the junk vehicle definition. The vehicle at Ponderosa & Pierre is operable and all tires are inflated; it has been moved further back from the intersection.
