Description
Commercial Vehicle Parking on Stoneham Arena Property. I have noticed on a regular basis commercial box trucks bearing the name of Marty's Catering / Montvale Plaza being parked at the Stoneham Arena in the first row of parking spaces along Montvale Ave, sometimes for days at a time. Montvale Plaza has its own property and parking areas. Why are they being allowed to park on Town property? Secondly the trucks bear full color advertising on the whole sides of the trucks almost as big as some billboards. This prominent parking location on town property is therefore providing this local business with free advertising for all cars traveling on Montvale and especially those who are stopped at the stop lights at that intersection. Do other local business owners have the ability to park their trucks at the Arena? Will other businesses be given the equal opportunity to advertise their businesses in a similar manner? If the Town has decided to allow this business free off-site parking, at a minimum, it should be somewhere out of the public view. Perhaps behind the arena? Seems this one business has been given preferential treatment and gained financially from the obvious free advertising that it provides. I urge the Town to rethink this matter in fairness to all Stoneham businesses. Thank you.

The Town Parking sticker regulations concerning the above described vehicles seems to clearly prohibit this type of vehicle.
Here is what the regulation states:
(c) Vehicles
(1) The following vehicles are not eligible under this regulation:
A.Vehicles that have a carrying capacity of more than one ton,
B. buses,
C. truck tractors,
D. vehicles that exceed twenty feet in length,
E. vehicles bearing LV (livery plates) license plates. vehicles shall:
The vehicles have a capacity of more than one ton.
The vehicles are more than twenty feet in length.
Also, the fee should be $200 per placard according to the regulation.
Unless the regulation has been updated, changed, or modified, these permits should be invalid and revoked.
Perhaps the applicant did not disclose the capacity and size of the vehicle on his application for the permit.

I'm glad to see that this won't be permitted moving forward.
