Description
The illegal bikes are officially back! I'm sincerely fed up with the lack of police presence on our street. Nice to know that Morris Cove is once again forgotten about. Two male bikers on dirt bikes just screamed past my house, makeshift face masks in place. We know the police are aware of it. Get better at corralling them or the neighborhood will find a way to do it for you.

Lots of for sale signs. Speeding buses. Dirt bikes. Police presence on Townsend only which I am grateful for but I think the neighborhood deserves some of the tax money we spend...not just the representatives and people with power on Townsend...who actually don't get that much love, but certainly more than we do. Does anyone have the number for the new Sargent?
Have you also noticed that our streets are in the worse shape of New Haven? It seems Mr. Yale who is not taxed has better roads that the Cove. It has to end.
In addition, the buses are horrible. Well some of them and they are empty. If we need the bus service which we do, we need less of it and it needs to get off of Concord. Houses on both sides. Move them. If they want to speed go to Dean. If CT Transit is unable to control their drivers than Townsend will slow them down to the speed limit. If no one is willing to deal with these issues, we will do it as a neighborhood. I have already started the discussion with reps in Hartford as our rep for New Haven seems unwilling to address the issues in the Cove, unless its the seawall where he lives. Lets be heard.

If you know where dirt bikes, quads and ATVs are garaged, report it to the New Haven Police Criminal Intel Unit. The officer in charge is:
Sergeant Karl Jacobson
New Haven Police Department
Criminal Intel Unit/Narcotics
One Union Ave, New Haven CT
phone: (203) 946-6098
Fax: (203) 946-6293
e-mail: kjacobson@newhavenct.net
He will respond to emails and calls. If you report a known ATV or dirt bike location to him, he will investigate and confiscate the machines.

For information on storage locations of ATVs and other illegal vehicles, please call (203)946-6098 (reports can be made anonymously). Community members are always welcome to notify their respective District Manager; however, it’s important that people don’t telephone their District Manager to report an incident which is currently taking place, but instead telephone the incident into the non-emergency line to have officers dispatched.
