Description
Around 4:30 pm today, I watched a New Haven police car (license # 113 NH) perform a rolling stop and then drive through the red light traveling from Olive St. across State St. to Grove St. The officer was also talking on a cellphone at the time.
Neither the siren, nor the emergency vehicle lights were on, and the car pulled over in front of Brueger's Bagels on Church & Grove shortly thereafter.

NHPD Unaccountable (Guest)
You can't , besides I saw an officer today who watched a bus full of children go through a red light on Elm street. Since the police car didn't have license plates I couldn't tell you what car it was- nice. ABOVE THE LAW

saw NHPD 125 driving aggessively behind another driver while following at a distance of maybeee 6 inches while gunning the engine and braking. Thats ok right ?

I'm not trying to bait you guys at all with this response, but the fact is this is a cop who is trained professionally in driving techniques. If he was right on somebody's bumper, I'm sure he had a good reason ie: the person driving cut off somebody, maybe the cop himself, ran a red light, whatever. Sometimes cops make their presence known without actually pulling someone over and issuing a ticket. I've had it happen to me and I appreciate them reminding me they are hear without giving me a ticket! Maybe this was the case here. Probably.

detour1 I hear what your saying, but definatley not the case here. Trained or not this cop was driving like an aggessive &(*%^$#$. and turned off into a driveway. Impatiently gunning the engine and braking attempting to cut soemone off and changing your mind is not part of the training. Either is driving dangerously around pedestrians in the downtown area, but hey, when your the law you can do whatever you want !!
I have had the same happen to me, but usually its with a whoop of the siren or a light flash. Not looking to play bumper cars cause their in a hurry to get nowhere.
What ever happen to setting the example???

It's interesting (and by that I mean, infuriating) that complaints about police officers are NEVER officially "acknowledged" on this website as other complaints are.
