We are not in the city limits, so the county is responsible for law enforcement. We have a posted 20 mph speed limit sign at the entrance to our subdivision that has been up for several years. Our problem is hardly anybody heeds this posted speed limit. Many calls have been made to the county sheriff's office concerning speeding in this neighborhood in excess of 50 mph. There are blind driveways coming into the subdivision and that fact makes this act of not doing the posted speed limit very dangerous. What really gets our goat is that the county can have 5 patrol cars directing traffic for the Churches on Sunday because they are in a hurry to make it to Cracker Barrel for lunch, but they can not have a patrol car sitting in the neighborhood to deter speeding. This problem is all day and night 7 days a week.
