Description

The new traffic signal for Claremont Ave at Mystic Street is set up very badly for pedestrians walking on the west side of Claremont. The Safeway project added a walk signal controlling pedestrian access on the sidewalk across the grocery driveway at this location, but even when Claremont car traffic has a green light the pedestrian signal allowing people to continue on the sidewalk doesn't provide a walk beacon until someone presses the button and then waits through a full signal phase.

Please change this pedestrian signal so that is defaults to a white walk beacon all the time, only turning to a red "don't walk" when the light for drivers exiting the Safeway driveway turns green.
