Description
it is awesome that the city is replacing the turf in the parkways around town. however whoever is doing the turf removal is doing a horrible job. grass is already starting to grow back along taber and rimpau. Also check out the recently torn out grass chase between gilbert and rimpau. lastly does the city get the turf removal rebate? If so the city shouldn't qualify with the shoddy work

It's definitely not fixed. They didn't kill the grass before removing it, and didn't even come close to using the required 3" of mulch. A half inch to an inch is about it.
The entire stretch of Taber between California is a weed pit.

You're definitely not going to the right place or someone is not telling you the truth. There's no new mulch here and the area is not cleaned up other than hacking off some of the tree saplings that are taking over and spraying poison on the grass and weeds.
I wish someone in the city would walk the area so they can understand how poorly this was installed. I don't want to see the city continue to use this contractor for new areas if they're not going to follow the rules for turf removal that homeowners are required to follow. I.E., KILL the grass first, take out ALL of the dead grass, and use 3 inches of mulch.
Also, the drip lines to the new plants are on top of the thin layer of mulch and are getting kicked away from the plants when people park on the street and trample over the area to get to the park. I walk my dog past this every day and often stop to put the drip lines back in place so they're watering plants and not the dead area.
I'm grateful that the city is being proactive to save our precious water supplies! Thank you for that! But please get on this contractor to live up to the promise of creating beautiful landscaped areas in place of the turf.
