Really tired of this. Keeps happening at this exact same spot. Can we get some "No Dumping" signs at least? The city refuses to clean them up. We are entering into mosquito season and this is going to be a nightmare. Health hazard!! Getting ready to call NBC12 or something.
The responsiveness in the East End is terrible. If this happened in the West End this would be addressed and monitored!!!

Your telling me that neither the City of Richmond or its employees is capable of removing tires simply because they are over a guard rail in a ravine?
Perhaps the residents of the neighborhood should collect the tires themselves... then dump them over a guard rail and into a ravine in Bryan Park. Perhaps the City could then figure out how to deal with the massive logistical challenge of a guard rail and a slope.
Still waiting for Richmond to take meaningful action on this. These tires are holding water and breeding grounds for mosquitos. You all need to come get these NOW.
This is so messed up. Apparently it's totally okay for anyone to dump at this spot, because it's a ravine.
How about this--if the City of Richmond can't/won't clean this up, how about they contract a private company to manage this cleanup? Pay someone else to do it.
That begs the question though--why should the city have to outsource maintenance like this?
Either way---this mess needs to be cleaned up--health hazard, and environmentally disgusting.
The darn tire dumpers though...do you think its one of the Used Tire Businesses dumping there?
They do the same thing in Evergreen Cemetery. Because everyone knows that dumping old tires on top of Human Graves is totally okay...!!?? These dumpers are absolutely and totally disrespectful, they need to be stopped.

This area is disgusting and I completely agree that this would not be acceptable in other areas of Richmond (this is across from a PARK, a park with a children's playground).
Hello City of Richmond. How terrible does something have to become before you offer even the most common sense resolution, such as removing mounds of tires and garbage from a city owned lot. Guess what? This is outside, so you can't just close it, like your schools. It will always be there filled with garbage and tires, breeding disease until you do something about it. As a resident of this community I'm appalled by your general disregard for the east end of Richmond and its residents.
APT- thanks for the contact name. I just sent the photos and nature of the issue to Cynthia Newbille. Hopefully she can help get something done about this.
I emailed Cynthia Newbille and her liaison Samuel Patterson this morning and outlined the situation and provided the link to this thread. They responded very quickly, saying thanks for the info and they would follow up with me in a bit. I just received another email from Mr. Patterson, essentially copying Rosalind Stewart from DPW into the conversation. We shall see what happens, am hoping the tires will be removed. We just had a ton of rain yesterday and I know they are going to fill up with mosquito eggs soon.
