This is the worst I have seen in my nearly 30 years in New Haven. It was a bad winter, but the lack of attention to potholes, as well as with clearing the curbs of snow in the weeks since the last major snowfall, is very disappointing.

YES THAY R NOT DOING THAIR JOBS BUT THAY STILL TAKE R $$$$$$

Some of the damage that may happen to your vehicle may not happen right away and may be difficult to trace to potholes, unlike tire damage.

If they waited until the leaves fell off the trees before finalizing the fall cleanup on THEIR schedule (not natures) it would have helped but that would have only made sense.

I have to say as bad as the removal was (side to side on streets) they at least made the effort to clear the streets in a timely manner and the potholes are due to the weather not lack of filling them.

They were here before the winter weather, it only made it worse. If they were taken care of before the winter we would be in much better shape.

The democratic administration that has always been in control in New Haven has no reason to do anything to help the residents of New Haven. They have so much control that they dont even have to think about loosing their positions of power. Every election the voters go out and continuously vote for the same "political power machine" . I guess everyone is content paying high taxes, having the worst road conditions, etc etc etc.
There is only a one party system in the City of New Haven. The other party is not the greatest either but maybe if these do nothing politicians are shown in November that they need to perform their duties for the betterment of the people and the city it may pursuade them to look farther then their own pockets.

All that was done since i reported these pot holes was a quick patch job. Its more of the same in the city of New Haven rediculous taxes and very little for them. I had to have the entire front end of my auto rebuilt.
Some one is filling their pockets.
Im sure there is a surplus of money when schools are being rebuilt after being used less then 30 years.

The potholes in New Have are not repaired properly. They have 4 or 5 workers. One drives the truck, one throws the asphalt to cover the hole the other smooths it down and the other two supervise. What a waste of tax dollars. I pay $14,000 plus for property tax annually now $17,000. When you drive down the streets of New Haven it's like driving down a dirt road. Its rediculous what a waste of money.

It has been 1231 days since I submitted my comment regarding the potholes and dangerous conditions of Orange Street from the Trumbull St. Exit to Pearl St. In the past two weeks the city finally milled and repaved the road. They also went from $14,000 annual property tax to almost $20,000. We the resident sure received the bill for this job.
I am finally moving out of New Haven. I no longer can afford to live here, between the taxes and outrageous price for auto insurance ( twice as much than neighboring towns) and the crooked administration I say good bye.

We are closing older pothole issues in order to focus on current pothole issues. Many of the older issues were addressed through our Street Division but were never closed. Other issues reported in the "pothole category" are road conditions beyond an "immediate fix/patch. We've reviewed those locations and will consider them in our paving season. Thanks.
