I guess not @Harleyinnewhaven. I saw an article in the New Haven Independent that New Haven PW is using cold patch since it claims to be waiting for the ground to warm up before using the hot patch. However in Hamden and North Haven they are using hot patch and plate compactors to fill their potholes and what do you know, that is lasting a lot longer than what New Haven is doing. I would even be happy if they came back and refilled the holes with cold patch but TAMPED IT DOWN this time, even if they had to use a hand tamper; I have one they can borrow if they don't have one.

We are closing older "pothole" issues in order to focus on current pothole issues. Many of the older issues were addressed through our streets division but were never closed. Other road issues reported in the "pothole" category are road conditions beyond an immediate fix/ patch. We've reviewed those and have considered them through our paving seasons. Thanks
