Description

This location currently has a crosswalk allowing one to move from one side of Wake Forest to the other. However, there is no signal allowing pedestrians to stop traffic prior to crossing. Due to the width of Wake Forest many of the vehicles exceed the posted speed limit. There is also a blind curve and slop to the North limiting drivers’ ability to see pedestrian. Although there is a painted cross walk vehicles do not abide by local traffic laws; stopping for pedestrians. It is only a matter of time before someone is harmed at this location, or worse killed. The implementation of a signal would allow pedestrians to stop traffic prior to crossing and would greatly limit this risk.
