Description
I have attempted to attach two views of 4 vehicles and a trailer blocking pedestrian access to what little sidewalk and safe passage exists for walkers at this location. this situation is nearly a daily occurrence that impacts several people using 4th ave for a walking route to shopping, work or health and fitness. while I am sympathetic to the contractors building the homes, I do not see Poulsbo residents personal safety being compromised at the needs of making life easier and more profitable for developers. The allowance for inadequate road widths and parking provisions is clearly demonstrated all over P. Place properties even after construction is history. Past traffic surveys of 4th ave attest to the volume and attraction for speeding which increase the safety threat to walkers forced to find a route in the street.
While I have someones attention on this area I will also offer a reminder that the missing sidewalk sections of 4th ave have been continuously listed on the City annual TIP since at least 2006. Perhaps it is time to seriously consider compliance with this TIP process. Even well draining crushed rock walking sections on one side of 4th ave might serve many walkers and relieve part of the TIP obligation. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
