Have you tried either reporting it to your landlord or leaving a note on the vehicle window?

Dear jlstaples24, Yes, we've mentioned it to the land lords assistant who also lives in the building while the land lord is out of state for the winter. Another tenant said that she left a note on the van. I've left notes on other vehicles as well but all too often the same people will continue to park in that area. This has been going on for a couple years so we've decided to step things up a bit and use a local security cam to start reporting cars illegally parked. We've been nice about it for so long but it's an on going issue. There is also an ongoing issue of highschoolers in that area trying to rip down street signs and also broke a picnic table that belongs to a business across the street. Today our buildings camera caught what appears to be a student parking his car across the street in a small dirt parking lot that belongs to an apartment building that faces Braodway (their parking is out back on Pine St). This young man obviously does not live in that building and appears to be a student at a local high school. As he looked very young and was wearing a back pack. Also when he walked away from his vehicle he did not go into the building but rather walk down Pine in the direction of John Bapts on the next street. This was caught by a security camera that faces that particular buildings dumpster (to catch people illegally dumping or garbage picking). They also use it for their rear security. Also since Essex St. the next street over has now become nortorious for drugs and crime land lords and local businesses on our end of Pine St. have now put up a lot of security cams. Also EMMC Urology has security guards posted between 3pm to 5:30pm to escort the female employees to their cars. With all the local gas stations selling booze and a couple bars in that area it's rather sketchy at night. And like I said Essex St. has become notorious in the news. But the security & web cams have also been used to catch people parking illegally.

Well, that sucks! I hate when people do things like that, and then think it's ok to continue doing so. I also don't like the sketchiness of that area either. I live on Fruit and sometimes my husband and I walk downtown to go shopping or to the library and see some of these type of people you mention. What have the police said about the situation?

Thanks jlstaples24, I've just sent another pic to the BDN report. From our security cam that shows yet another vehicle illegally parked. This one partially blocking our driveway even more. It's a gray-ish Nissan Xterra. I shouldn't are so much considering I plan to move in the coming year but I've seen this go on for 2 years without complaining.

I would post a note on the windshield of the car, telling them not to park there!

dsme, We have since moved but other friends we know that live in that same building have also called the local police but the cops keep telling them that "there is plenty of room for tenants to pull out" and so no one is getting a ticket. This sounds bogus to us because it is blocking them from leaving and it also blocks visibility. We suspect that the cops know the people that work in the building across the street and they have some sort of "in" with the police to get off Scott free.

The people that were parking there are no longer parking illegally. The issue can be closed now.
