Description

The parking place on the south side of Lake St. just west of the Elmwood stop sign (and across from the police dept. side door) is *always* occupied by police private vehicles and the plow can never get to it. Tonight it will freeze. I have called and asked the police if they can move the cars parked there and as soon they do, another car pulls in. This area was missed on the LAST snow emergency and the plow drivers just cannot get to it because of police overstaying the two hour limit and parking there for their entire shifts. Also, when the vehicles are parked there, they are in the center of the bike lane. I have called 311 about it several times, and have called the police, and have left a message for a call back at Public Works. But unless the police can just park in their lots and not use that space (which is supposed to be for residents and their guests), I guess the bike lane will be blocked and the space in front of my driveway next to this parking place will just have to wait for the ice and snow to melt.
