Avalon Road is a two-way street leading directly into Colonial Park School, however, two vehicles can barely fit past each other. This poses a risk to students as cars have to drive up the icy snowbanks a bit in order to fit and end up slipping and sliding, not to mention a fire truck could never get by another vehicle in case of an emergency. The snowbanks need to be cut back to allow two cars to fit past each other down the street. I am surprised the town doesn't take better care of the area directly around a school in the wake of all this snow. Bad enough parents had to call the DPW yesterday morning to have them properly clear the roadway inside the school after a nightmare of a drop-off. You would think someone would be out assessing the entire area to ensure the safety of our children and their families.
