For some months this has been an issue raised by many voices.Those parties involved are the city, the RR, DART, it's contractor.At one meeting , the latter promised to look into it.Obviously there has been no action.I was left with the understanding that , with the RR and DART' contractor, the city would do the street work.When you drive Richardson's crossings, they are smooth so there should be no barrier to fixing the problem.

I have watched most city meetings CGTV. What meeting did you attend when this particular intersection was discussed? Since you are familiar with crossings in the city of Richardson, maybe you could research process used by the City of Richardson and post what you find out. It might be very useful information that could be put to use by our community.

I attended a DART meeting that was briefing the community at city hall. Several of us had also brought this up in the past months to the city .
I am not able to work on more right now re Richardson but do have a DART board citizen meeting later in the month and will follow up.The bridge construction has everyone pointing fingers at each other.The best I can do is encourage more people to call their councilman and the city transportation dept as they should be handling this also.I just happen to have to drive the crossings in Richardson frequently and noticed the substantial difference.Maybe they are able to work better with the RR then we are.

I contacted DGNO office in Richardson, and the process of working with the various entities is ongoing. However, there may be a delay in the repair of that RR crossing since that will be converted to an overhead DART line in the near future. It would be financially prudent to look at the expense involved in the repair of RR crossing that is scheduled for major renovation. DGNO is moving their switching operation to an area behind the Newman Power Plant. The second set of tracks might be eliminated, leaving only the overhead DART line. The RR crossing is rough, but I believe it is still manageable.

The City of Garland is working with DART and the DGNO railroad to construct a new crossing with concrete panels. We expect to come to an agreement by the end of the month and for construction to follow soon thereafter.
