Description
This has been an ongoing problem for over a year. There is a homeless couple who lives at the top of the concrete slope under the bart track who use the slope as a bathroom. They have a mattress at the top of the slope and trash accumulates all along the slope as they discard their empty McDonald's wrappers and other items. It's disgusting to walk past and then stench of urine is overwhelming. The RV's that are parked there are too large and they extend into the lane of traffic making it more dangerous for bicyclists to travel down this very busy stretch of road. What appears to be drug and prostitution activities going on out of these vehicles makes it uncomfortable for residents to walk by and get to that stretch of telegraph ave which is improving more and more with new businesses moving in.
The homeless couple has been removed once before but they came right back and the RV's have been flagged but they return as well. With the amount of bike traffic it might be nice to eliminate parking under the overpass all together and putting a fence at the top of the concrete slope would keep the homeless couple from returning and eliminate the trash and urine problem.
Please help to create a lasting solution.
