Description
Central is a major cross-town bike route. The signal at Grand has no bicycle activation, unlike the loop at High St, the cameras in Pleasanton, or even the timed signals throughout Alameda.

Bike loops have been installed on Grand Street at the intersection of Central Avenue. In the future, you may want to consider using the City's Access Program which can be found on the City of Alameda's web page so your request can be tracked and prioritized with other work.

It looks like there is a signal loop on Central heading toward Webster, but not heading toward Park. A detector on Central heading toward Park would be helpful. Also, a stencil for the loop would be helpful.
Thank you for all the work you do!

Dear "Some One",
Thank you for providing the City of Alameda Public Works Department with additional information. We have taken that information and opened a case in our Alameda Access program. Maintenance staff will review the sensitivity of the loops and Engineering staff will review our standards on bicycle detector symbols.
In the future, staff suggests that you consider using the City of Alameda's "Alameda Access" to submit concerns or requests. Alameda Access directs your concerns/requests to the appropriate departments and therefore, provides a quicker response time. You can access it through the City of Alameda's website: http://www.cityofalamedaca.gov/.
