Completely agree with comment re back-up on Cathedral Ave trying to get onto Mass Ave SB. Has become a bigger issue now. Lights need to be re-set so that cars moving SB on Mass are stopped at Mass and Cathedral to allow room on Mass Ave SB for cars coming up Cathedral turning right onto Mass SB between Cathedral and Wisc Ave.
During morning rush hour, light on Mass Ave SB turns red at Wisconsin before it turns red at Cathedral. As a result, the stretch of Mass Ave between Cathedral and Wisconsin fills with cars, which prevents right turns from Cathedral EB to Mass Ave, resulting in large backups on Cathedral EB.

Not enough information for DDOT to respond
"Not enough information for DDOT to respond"? What additional information is needed please? This is a traffic flow issue that is impacting pedestrian safety at this busy intersection.
+1 - comments describe problem. DDOT needs to send someone to observe problem between 8am and 9am on a normal workday and the problem will be clear - traffic backups creating unsafe situation for drivers and pedestrians.

DDOT has reviewed the signal operation to ensure the signal is working according to design. Motorists turning left onto Mass Ave are alloted 16 to 19 seconds of green time depending on am peak or pm peak periods. With that said any additional time would require loss of time from Massachusetts Avenue which carries much more traffic than Cathedral Avenue. We will observe the locations to identify if additional time can be allocated. Thank you for your interest in traffic signals.
Issue isn't left turn from Cathedral to Mass Ave. issue is right turn from Cathedral EB to Mass SB. Traffic backs up on Mass prevention turns. Solution is to have signal on Mass at Cathedral to turn red *before* signal on Mass at Wisconsin turns red.
