Description
This happens all over Cohoes... people park facing the wrong way on the streets... too lazy to walk the other side of the street or turn their cars around! This is illegal and could cause some serious accidents.

Absolutely! You're totally right. I see this kind of thing happening all the time here in Cohoes. People park the wrong direction, block driveways constantly, park on the sidewalk, and have absolutely no idea how to be courteous and leave enough room between vehicles when they park on the street!
The other thing Cohoes is completely negligent on is "No Parking From Here to Corner" signs. At virtually every street in this city, people park as far up to the corner as they can, thus making it so that you can't see around the parked cars when you're trying to pull out. MANY times I have stopped at a Stop sign and then just creep slowly forward so I can crane my neck out to see if anybody's coming, when someone comes FLYING around the turn and almost smashes into me!
The parking situation in many sections of Cohoes leaves a lot to be desired.
Can't anyone do anything to improve this? I think the taxpayers should get more than this crappy stuff for their money!

Parking will only be allowed in driveways and on streets, and will not be allowed on front yards, designated curbs, between the curb and sidewalk, or sidewalks.

Also. NYS Vehicle & Traffic Law
ARTICLE 32 STOPPING, STANDING, AND PARKING§ 1203. Additional parking regulations.
(a) Except where angle parking is authorized, every vehicle stopped, standing, or parked wholly
upon a two-way roadway shall be so stopped, standing, or parked with the right-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel to and within twelve inches of the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway.
This means facing the direction of traffic.
