this whole mattress situation is ridiculous. There should be some way that folks can access the landfill or pay a reasonable price for haulers to take stuff like this away from the neighborhoods. the problem is much worse where there are apartment buildings and/or people do not have a vehicle.
As of January 26 Stopwaste of Alameda county is putting up $25,000 in incentives to a local mattress recycler. Mattresses prices on a sliding scale $12 for king size to $6 for twin. The bounties should be on the scumbags that keep on doing all the illegal dumping. More info at the Stopwaste website.
I just reported cardboard boxes dumped behind CVS pharmacy on the sidewalk with the perps Name and address on them. He dumped in 94602 from 94605. I published his name and address on my Click Fix report. Hope the city fine him!
