Description

Hi all, the wonderful Joseph Porcelli just told me about this site when I came across his name googling for help. I have a broken rib and a respiratory infection, making it a terrible mix to shovel. I'm sort of stuck in a place, literally and figuratively without having help to shovel or get my car out, and asking for help is hard for me. Anyways, if anyone could help me shovel my little walk way and car out, I would be so grateful, I also will happily pay you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See photo since you can't really see whole car.

Public Works Department is certainly sympathetic to the issues you are facing. As much as we would love to assist you it really is unacceptable to utilize municipal services for private individuals. I am assuming without checking at this point that your address at 704 Mt Auburn St is a multi unit residence. Do you own or do you rent and do you have a landlord that would have some responsibility? With respect to your doctors appointment, would you be eligible to use the MBTA's RIDE program?

Oh my gosh, I wasn't expecting any help from the city. I hope that is not how my post came across. My apologies, I was referred to this site with the expectation that it is for neighbors to help neighbors and expected maybe some neighborhood kids to stop by who I could pay. Our landlord might be able to come by tomorrow, he graciously offered, but I didn't know if it would be in time. Our lease states that snow removal is by tenant, but he is a great landlord who has offered and I know would come through, it was just a timing issue and I'm empathetic to his own situation of being snowed in with his family. Anyways, If my family gets plowed this evening, they will be coming to bring me. I was just trying to look into all options. Thank you again for writing. If I used the wrong forum to post something like this, can you let me know so I can take my post down immediately?
