Description

Gile Street runs parallel to Route 495. Vehicles travel at speeds far in excess of the 30 mph city speed limit for this road. Too many large trucks use this street as a shortcut from Newton Road to Route 125/495. I estimate speeds in excess of 50 mph by some vehicles. The City should add 30 mph signs along this road and the police increase patrols from time to time and possibly employ a "portable speed detector" along this street.

Also very concerned about the amount of trash that gets dumped along the wooded section of Gile Street running to North Avenue. The Mass Trial Courts Community Service does a great job every month or so cleaning up the trash dumped there. We need a few " No Dumping, No Litter" signs put up along this section and more city and police patrols.

I have seen people dumping TV sets, building trash, sinks along here but was not able to get the license plate numbers to report them. Not to mention the numerous alcohol, soda, water and coffee containers.
