Description
house has been abandoned next to little chef on strode ave. for several years. I see vagrants coming in and out of house. house had a for sale sign on it, when you call that number you always get a recording. Owner is deceased and distant relative couldn't care less. This is close to the fire house, I'm suprised no else has noticed it. It is not secured. I fear what could happen if there is a fire there, with the gas station located right next door and all the high trees and brush around the property. Please check into it.

John I agree - and that is why we need to look at outsourcing them.

The sad part is a friend of mine wants to buy that house, he has the cash to pay for it and rehab it and he knows how to do the work. AND he is not a slumlord. I guess it will just sit until God forbid one of the people squatting in there sets some trash on fire to keep warm. Then it will become important!

That's going to be a LOT of people compacted into that one building, it will probably become a nuisance in time if it becomes apts.

That house is registered historic. Efforts are underway to have it preserved. The Coatesville Historical Commission would have more information.
If you see people entering the home illegally, please call the police!
