What alternatives do you suggest? They've replaced the signs b/c the old ones were faded. Every once in a while, there's a cop giving out tickets. But neither one of those quick fixes keeps people from speeding through. It is very dangerous. My family has been nearly run over numerous times because the cars are going well above the speed limit due to the hill there. Also, why are you against speed humps?

There are many alternative traffic calming measures such as road narrowing, install of island, slight curve to road, textured crosswalks that generate small bumps signaling speed, etc. Harts Mill has done some. Other examples throughout the area. I'm not aware of speed humps installed by dunwoody. Dekalb did the ones on delivery on before city hood. Speed humps imply there's a cut through, impact property values, etc. Perhaps the neighborhood should begin a formal conversation with dpd about enforcement, placing digital speed trailer on Coldstream, etc.

Unfortunately, it IS being used as a cut through. That's why people speed through the neighborhood. They don't care since they don't live there. In my opinion, speed humps will be the most effective. Yes to textured crosswalks, blinking lights, etc...No to digital speed trailer since it's a temporary fix. Due to location of stop sign and nature of road at that spot, road narrowing, install of island, curve to road seem less likely.

Perhaps adding a 4 way stop at Heatherdale and Macbain too. I'd like to see suggestions from a traffic calming study since I'm not a traffic engineer.

I agree with Dunwoody Guy, while speed humps may slow traffic, they have their down side. As a resident on Coldstream, I would prefer another solution. The status quo makes routine walks both dangerous and unpleasant.

A prioritized work order is in place for this issue. Repairs will take place according to their priority. Thank you for your patience.

In order for a street to be considered for traffic calming, an initial interest petition must be signed by 20% of the property owners on the street. The city then completes an evaluation to determine if there is a problem and the extent of the problem. If someone is interested in submitting a petition they should Contact Public Works at (678) 382-6850 for additional information.

I am sick of these people flying through our neighborhood, slurping their coffee and yammering on their cell phones. So far all I do is glare at them (like that makes any difference) and make them swerve around me. A digital speed trailer will do no good. These people don't pay attention to anyone walking their dogs or strolling their kids. Why would they pay attention to a speed trailer?

4 way stops at Heatherdale and Firth would be a great addition.

A study was done previously and traffic calming measures were determined not to be warranted.
