Description
The house at this address has been "under repair" for at least 5 years, but in the last 2, nothing has been done to it except graffiti, weeds, and apathy. Nobody lives in it, and I haven't seen anybody at the property in at least 2 - I pass it 2x daily, every day. Looks terrible.

Hey,
We just want to let you know that San Diego Public Works has been notified. Updates will be posted here as soon as there is any more information.
Thanks

Well, I first reported this 2 years ago, and zero has changed. The house is still abandoned, and now there is a small trailer/RV in the back (which is slowly gathering graffiti). Every once in a while, someone shows up to weed whack, but that's not very often.

Was this addressed?

Juat dropped by to see for myself. A chain link fence has been put up around the whole property and someone has clearly painted over all the graffiti on the house itself. Other than that it still looks awful. At least the yard has been mowed. What's going on with it?
amcrory (Guest)
They had some sort of "yard sale" at the property a few weekends ago (w/fence in place) - I don't think it was the property owners - I think it was the junk shop next store just using the property. But aside from the weeds and trying to cover the graffiti, that's been about the only activity there.
Alex Maitre
Who do you think put up the chain link fence and painted over the graffiti? The city probably did, but I am just guessing. But it can take years to evict someone and raze a house....IF the city is doing that. I suggest you give them a call at that number below. I voted for this issue already, but felt it would be nice to get some heat - and a picture - on it. Kudos to you for reporting it.

Thank you! I did call the city and they took my complaint. Not sure what the process is after that. Thanks for adding the photo!
Alex Maitre
No prob...sometimes adding a photo generates more interest, "might" generate more votes because people recognize the house, and verall creates more "heat" about the issue

Well, it's been almost three years, and the house is still there, unchanged (minus the chainlink fence)...

I did. Back in February of this year.

Looks like they've started demolition...

Excellent!!

Seems kind of stagnated in the past few weeks. I drive by this house twice a day and haven't noticed any changes in at least the past three weeks.

Hi.
Just to let everyone know, this property is not abandoned. It is owned by my uncle and renovations eventually be done.
Amcrory (Guest)
Well, I'm glad something is being done. Will it be a retail space now?
Closed James Tinsky
Renovations are indeed under way. A second story has been added and construction is occurring on a daily basis. I'd say this issue could be closed.

No offense (and I am truly glad work is on-going), but I've lived in North Park for 10 years, and this property has been an eyesore for half of that time. I'd like the issue to remain open until the work is actually finished, there's a tenant, and it's contributing to the 32nd Street community.
James Tinsky
No offense taken. I've lived here for a bit longer but I didn't start driving by there until a few years ago so it wasn't on my radar until recently.

I walked by this week and noticed a strange new window on the side of the structure... it appears to be a drive-thru window... I hope my speculation is wrong!
Alex Maitre
Uh oh haha
Andy McRoru (Guest)
Uh oh is right. Dispensary?! :). Niel Kovaks, can you disclose what your uncle is planning with the property?
