More signs there now. Suspect from nearby income tax service. Repeated offender. Please charge fee per code to help compensate city for enforcement effort and discourage future violations.
Your concern was forwarded to the Zoning department. The zoning inspector went and spoke with each party last week and they all agreed to remove the signs. The locations will be inspected again to ensure compliance. Notices of violation will go out to ensure continual compliance. This issue will be closed out due to the duplication of requests. f you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at 804-646-7000. Unfortunately, the city will neither remove signs nor fine their posters. But city code allows citizens to remove and dispose of illegally posted signs without penalty. Go ahead and pull them up, or take a copy of the code into the business and "offer" to pull them up for them. I have found this VERY effective.
After being arrested and city police putting 2 FELONY charges against me for removing such illegally posted signs, sheriff causing me to get someone to post bond after not like my responding to their asking for my social security number by my asking for their statement to comply with the 1974 Federal Privacy Act, and city taking me to court AFTER I pointed out city code allows anyone to remove such signs, I promised supervisor of my job NOT to remove more signs. Since then, I report violation, for CITY TO ENFORCE CITY CODE!
The Department of Public Works received your concern. There were 4 signs removed from this location. We appreciate your communication that helps us in “Building The Best Richmond” together.
