Please do not close this issue until DPW has actually painted the lines. Drivers are drifting towards the center of the roadway and are stopping too far into the intersection because proper crosswalks are not present. The Boulevard already has it's lines painted and that work was completed after Floyd.

Also, have you ever tried calling the City main number without knowing what department you need? A huge exercise in futility.

Great question! CRS- Citizens' Request System... this is the system utilized for the departments to receive requests and to disclose their findings as well as how the issues are resolved. Despite the above thanks, this issue has not been fixed - it was passed along and nothing has been done.

Please keep this issue open until someone in the city fixes the situation. This roadway was re-paved before a number of other roads within the Museum District and Floyd Ave. is the only one without lane and crosswalk markings. The safety of residents is compromised by this oversight.

Please give the residents a date that this work will be completed as it is a safety hazard. Until then, please notify the appropriate authorities (Dept. of Public Works, Richmond Police) to handle the dangers and provide a safe environment for the residents and guests.

Was just told the following by the city 311 - The city has until April 20, 2015 to investigate this concern.

This would be FOUR months of unsafe conditions....no center lane marking, speeding, stop sign running, and pedestrians without crosswalks.

It is disturbing something as basic and needed as road markings can sit undone for months while the city investigates why they weren't painted to begin with. My guess (just a guess), they are holding off to wait and see if they can paint bike lanes. Way to put safety first RVA!

This is ridiculous. Why is the City of Richmond waiting so long to get the lines painted? Council member Baliles, you live on Floyd in the Museum District...why hasn't the City Council, the Mayor, and the City of Richmond put resident safety as a priority?

Don't think it is the bike lanes holding it up, as the City just finished repaving all our HC ramps as originally designed, not as designed for the bike walk redo. Too cold to paint right now, but would be great if we had a schedule.

The problem is every other street in the Museum District was painted within 2 weeks of repaving, but not Floyd Ave. And the City of Richmond has had numerous warmer days to paint the markings and done nothing. If they can't paint the lines, then the City of Richmond needs to do a better job of providing a safe corridor of travel for not only cars, but pedestrians and cyclists...maybe they need more police cars along Floyd to slow traffic and make sure that all traffic laws are properly followed.

Problem still exists...when will the City of Richmond fix this?

Jon Baliles mentioned this at the MDA town hall last week. The Public Works director told him they are waiting for Bike Boulevard work to start before painting lines, so they don't have to tear up or patch pavement afterwards.

If that's the case, not sure why they installed the ADA sidewalk corners. Those will need to be torn up during bike boulevard work too, and I assume those were a lot more expensive than line painting.
