Based on this and several posts that have circulated over the past few months, it is clear that there is a hike in burglaries in East Rock. NHPD should not treat these as isolated events, but as a trend. Personally, I have also noted the return of the modified bikes on sidewalks/wrong way--I was nearly run over on the sidewalk in front of my house about a month ago, three teenagers on modified/small bikes. These were a presence some 5-7 years ago, when several residents were robbed as they walked home, knocked to the ground for bags, showed guns. Some 4 years ago several homes were broken into during this time of the year--a couple of them while residents were in another room. These attacks had subsided, but are now back. Can residents expect an effort from the City, Alders, NHPD towards halting criminality in East Rock?
We just had an Amazon package stolen from our mailbox as well. I got a friendly e-mail from a neighbour a couple blocks away who had found the emptied package in his garden...
