Those tubes are used to count the number of vehicles only, not to check speed. We use them frequently for traffic volume counts, but not to check speeds.

I never implied that Oakland County Roads used the strips for checking speed, only Macomb. I was mentioning the fact that you do have them available. Are you saying the strips/tubes you have are different than the ones used in Macomb County, and yours are not capable of containing digital time information necessary to extrapolate the contact time differences between point A and point B? If not, maybe you should update your equipment? By the way....I notice your strips/tubes are always used in pairs, spaced a few yards apart. What might the reason for that be if not for measuring speed? Why can't someone from the county offer these homeowners a little HELP instead of shooting down someone who offers them a potential remedy to their problems? I notice the county has yet to respond to original complaint in 10 months since posting, yet I get a negative response to my suggestion within minutes.

It seems that since we have a new neighbor who is friends with a sheriff, things have been taken more seriously. While we won't be seeing speed humps like they are fortunate enough to have on Powderhorn Ridge, at least there is a speed monitoring station on the street and an occasional Sheriffs car. With the dynamics of the area changing to that of younger families with dozens more kids in the area, the speeders present an ever greater threat.
