Description
People use Texas/Oklahoma as a shortcut to north Brewster and avoid light on Walton. 40-50 mph is not uncommon. Sheriff is willing to respond, but unless you get a plate # they can't do much. And we can't expect them to be here 24/7. Some of us have asked the city to install speed "humps" (not bumps...humps are lower and wider) but city said it would interfere with snow plows. Yet Powderhorn Ridge, less than 1/2 mile west, has them. (Do they use different snow plows over there?). The demographics of Texas Ave. have changed over last 10 years, more young families with kids have moved in. This is an accident waiting to happen, and maybe after somebody's kid gets killed the city will react. But this is now on record, and the city has been served with notice, and there is no excuse for the city to say they "didn't know". You know now.
