Description
We have had dirt, lawn caving in for many years. I suspect that the water is leaking from the incoming water line to the house. I sent an email a while ago. No response yet from BWL.
Pretty soon it will be too cold to dig and fix. Thank you.

Mr. Chaphalkar: I spoke with the head of our water division, and from the description you gave, this sounds like a leaking sewer line. Reason: A leaking water line would mean water under pressure, and it should be "gurgling" out of the ground. Caved in dirt sounds to him more like a sewer line, which is handled by the Lansing Public Service Department. I will send this information to the director of public service.
