We shouldn't have to beg for bike parking when a new building goes up. I'm adding my vote for every post&ring request here. I hope everyone else does too.

I'd like to see some bylaw requiring X number of post-and-rings for all new commercial and residential developments. Until that time I think it makes sense to submit specific request forms whenever we can, rather than complain about the lack of parking. Requesting is not begging. And certainly if you care enough to "vote" on this website, then you should appreciate the value of submitting a real request through official channels.

I second this request. I shopped last night at the new Loblaws and was not able to park within a block of the store. An outlet like a Loblaws should have both single post & ring along the street and larger aggregate parking areas.

Connor, there is apparently supposed to be a bike locker or rack installed in the parking garage that is accessible from the south side of the building, but of course that is not nearly as convenient as having post-and-rings at the main entrance.

No, I'm not the moderator. I think we should all take action on this. I highly recommend that anyone who thinks there should be post-and-rings at this site fill out one of these forms - it only takes a minute, and the more the City receives, the higher priority they will assign to this.

The requests here are not automatically sent to the City. We are collecting them to present as a whole package to City staff and councillors so that we can encourage them to respond to bike parking more systematically. City installed post and rings on Portland, just around the corner. I'm going to close this issue. Ideally I'd like post and rings along Queen on this block too since there are other stores that also need short-term parking needs. And the trees aren't protected yet. But we can open a new issue for that.
