The driver fell asleep we think and never hit the brakes because there were no skid marks. He split 2x10's like sticks and smashed deck and did not push it. Estimated speed has to be 50 plus. The State I called-jack Yoemans office and he did send a man named Glenn to look and see what could be done. I give him credit and thank h for sending someone out. The issue is that the State property is thin and that grassy piece is privately owned. To put up a guardrail ETC would require lawyers and surveys and owner providing land. The State said they would get back to me and let me know anything that can be done. They were very nice but more than likely I going to need to pay to have barrier or huge rocks or wood barrier like on Merritt put up. I can not risk this happening again. The damage estimates are 25-35k not including pool that needs to be drained, new liner etc. No idea damage to side walls etc. All and all no one was hurt however, I need help and hope the State can assist me in some fashion. This is a bad, bad road where people speed and have no regard for children and safety. I am no saint however, I do not drive 70 on that road and destroy houses. This is pure and simple, safety. I am not asking for anything more.

Good for you, the State should help you protect your property, if not maybe your insurance claim could include a guardrail for future protection. All the State has to do is protect your property at the beginning of Beardsley, come down on both roads Rte 110 as well and that should protect you... Good Luck...
