January 25th, major problem still - the drivers waiting for movement in their three lanes west to the tunnel get impatient and HONK , as well as block the grid so the local drivers cannot get through and HONK too.
it is horrible.

Feb 24, 2012 not even attended to let alone 'fixed' ! the city does not notice the traffic pattern there is about 3 moving lanes of traffic coming off the Williamsburg bridge heading to the tunnel and joining three continuing lanes from Broome also heading west. Interstate travel on residential streets because of the ONE WAY TOLL ON THE VERRAZANO BRIDGE. the stalled drivers just honk as if it would get them ahead.

March 25 2012, this morning at 5:45, some car honked 28 times in a row. Is that solving anything?

Sept 2012, these cars still honk incessantly, block the grid at every intersection, and are completely uncontrolled by the city. Rarely there are two traffic police directing traffic; even more rare are they assigned to give out tickets. Yesterday about 4 pm, with thick traffic across Broome,, I saw two uniformed policewomen standing in the shade of the building on the SW corner of Broome and Broadway, laughing and talking, paying no attention to the traffic. Were they assigned to it? who knows? were they on break, but still standing there? why? if they were told to watch the traffic even, this was not being done. This happens often: cops not doing something in groups, often at that corner, sometimes 4 of them, though in uniform. What are they doing?
