This response concerns a SEE-CLICK-FIX complaint of transients loitering/squatting on the property at 526 15th Street North. The complaint was forwarded to the SPPD Special Operations Division and routed to the Downtown Deployment Team (DDT) for a response.
The property was checked by Officers Robert Taylor and Richard Kenyon. They discovered a transient subject has set up residence in the bushes on the northwest corner of the lot. Although the subject claimed to be a care-taker for the property owner, whom he identified as "Richard", the subject was asked to pack up his property, leave the location and to not come back. The subject complied without incident.
Since the initial encounter, other DDT Officers have conducted spot checks to verify that no one else was on the property and that the main subject had not returned. There have been no further subjects located during these visits. The DDT squad works this area on a daily basis and will continue to keep an eye on the property.
Respectfully,
Special Operations Division
St. Petersburg Police Department
