I agree with all of the above. The intersection of Northern Blvd and Van Rens all the way back to the intersection of Northern Blvd with Albany Shaker and the approaching roads need a real serious look for improvement. The roads are in horrible repair. The signals are always malfunctioning (which has been the cause of quite a few accidents), There are virtually no lane stripes visible. It's just a traffic free-for-all.with the right-of-way given to the most aggressive driver. This is NOT safe. Particularly treacherous is the approach of Northern Blvd from the exit of I-90 East or West ... Three lanes of traffic crossing at high speed to exit I-90 to reach Northern Blvd or Route 9 North, for one is tricky, but particular care needs to be shown to the right hand yielding approach to Northern Blvd from I-90. It appears to drivers as though they have their own lane through this yield. This causes accidents all the time. I think drivers are expecting a similar exit as is off the Northway North onto Central Avenue/Wolf Road with an extra lane for the yield. There appears to be room for a third lane, but because there are no lane stripes painted it's very unclear that there are in fact only two lanes which leads to collisions very frequently. Surely this entire stretch of Northern Blvd and its surrounding approaches can be improved upon for safety and for the sake of our cars' maintenance!!
