Description
People cutting in at the lights at 15th and 2nd Ave West going North. Everyone is tired of the bridge under contruction but PLEASE wait as we all have too! With the snow and icy conditions there should be no reason that someone needs to cut in and risk an accident. Emergancy vehicles may be a different story but everyday traffic just trying to get home faster makes it scarier for the ones waiting in line. I know it is a long wait and I make the trip everyday twice with my children but PLEASE have patience.

I agree with you, also the ones that feel the need to get in the other lane coming north on 2nd ave and getting in front of everyone else in the line up..... I truly don't understand why ppl in this city seem to think this is acceptable, they travel this route daily and know that the access turns into a one way across the bridge yet feel they are above everyone else and get in that left lane to just get ahead of the traffic and slowing down the flow of traffic, as for the traffic coming from 15th st I agree wholeheartdly, and refuse to let anyone merge in front of me since you only have x amount of time to get through that light and they can wait their turn, I know if I am coming from that direction I wait till the light turns green.

In the last couple of days I have also been cut off by people coming out of the Tim Horton's parking lot onto 2nd Ave.....there is another exit out of the parking lot, may not be as convenient but better than causing accidents on 2nd. The first time it happened was a very close call and if it had been icier there would definately have been vehicles damaged!

Sometimes a little kindness and courtesy can go a long way. If you let someone in today maybe they will let you in tommorow, maybe they won't but then your being the better person. If even a few people start practicing a few manners the roads will be a better place for all. A smile instead of a finger, a little patience instead of road rage and random acts of kindness can become contagious so give a few of them out this Christmas season.
Remember on the road we are all in it together so lets try to get along and get where we are going safely.

How do you know they drive this route every day?
Maybe if Prince Albert had better drivers....and more POLITE drivers you wouldn't have as much to b!tch about!
Let someone in...instead of getting close to the bumper in front of you to purposely block them!
Go to another city...even Saskatoon....you'll be let in. Pa drivers really suck actually and have little courtesy on the road.

The city needs to close that lane on 2nd ave btween 17th Street and 15th Street.

I don't let them in. I waited so can they.

@Spitz....... Does it really matter if they drive this route every day..... THE SIGNAGE IS RIGHT THERE going in either direction that the bridge is out of commission and the miles of vehicles on 2nd ave isn't a sign, maybe they shouldn't be driving..... I am so tired of all these ppl sticking up for the bad drivers and the good drivers getting beat up because we are driving and obeying the traffic rules properly...... as for the fantastic drivers in Saskatoon..... WE AREN"T Saskatoon, we are a smaller city with a bunch of morons that have no respect for other drivers, I have to not only drive for myself, but the person in front of me behind me and in beside me.....
merge (Guest)
its called a merge
Enough is enough! (Guest)
Correct it is called a MERGE and MOST people MERGE at 22nd Street where the signs start and tell people about the bridge, then they wait their turn. MERGING traffiic driving fast to get ahead of the line at the lights on 15th and 2nd is being a JERK!
Spitz
Merge at 22nd?....are you kidding?!
Some people, that you think are locals, have no idea how far ahead the MERGE is...so they keep driving.....which is normal.
What isn't normal is PA idiot drivers with the " I must be ahead no matter what" mentality. Give way PA! You're a bunch of twits ( mostly ) ;-)

I actually get really peeved when someone completely ignores the signs, rushes to the front of the line and EXPECTS you to let them in!!! Like @#$%!!! They can get to the back where they belong. Weren't you every taught to PRE ANTICIPATE LANE CHANGES? If a sign says "left lande closed ahead" "2 way traffic ahead" you better start switching lanes, not rushing to the front and thinking you should be let in front of all the people who've already been waiting. Do you do that in superstore?

If you've driven in a major city outside of SK, you would be familiar with a driving techinique called "zippering" that helps to shorten wait times for all drivers when lanes are closed. However, as this practice requires common sense and courtesy, I highly doubt it would work in Prince Albert.

Personally I think the city police officers should be watching the traffic leaving town, and on #2 coming in from the north. 60 km/h is not happening, cars coming in from north and the merging traffic from Shellbrook highway are racing at all times of day and night. Once they get to the 40 km/h sign, brakes a being slammed on, and with the ice and snow it is going to be bad. As for those "special" drivers, that their time is so much more valuable that the rest of us, one of these line ups is going to end up with road rage. I think we are all getting quite frustrated with the whole situation.

If I gotta sit there and wait then so can you! That last lil bit of lane, between 15th and the tracks should be left for people turning north from 15th Street West. I'll leave room for them but not the jerks who speed pased me, coming down 2nd Ave, so they can get a whole 2 car lenghts ahead. Jerks!

The city police need to move further north on Highway #2. If their presence was shortly after the highway traffic coming in to Prince Albert has to slow down to 60 kim/h, that would stop the racing that goes on.
When you slow to the posted 60 km/h (at the garbage dump road), the traffic behind you, the traffic turning into the left lane, and/or the merging lane from Shellbrook highway are often racing each other.
They are going to end up killing someone, when they all try to be first and then hit their brakes when they see the city police car sitting there. Obviously, some drivers need supervision to follow the SIGNAGE.
Please slow down, we all wish to make it accross the bridge safely.
