Yes, residents should be clearing their sidewalks, that would be great, but almost impossible for them to do so when the city dumps 3 or 4' of hard packed ice and snow on the sidewalk. Once again, people with mobility issues, kids going to school, seniors etc. will be walking down the middle of the road. Makes a lot of sense. Put our kids and people with disabilities lives in danger! But as long as the able bodied person who can drive their big 4X4 can get around. That's what's important!

Once the city figures out how to pile the snow so its not on the sidewalks, then they should get enforcement services to start ticketing people. Bylaws are no good unless they are enforced. This is a major problem throughout the city. Ticket and tow people parked on the street when bans are issued and enforce sidewalk shoveling. I don't know if a lot of people realize that when they don't shovel their sidewalks and driveways that it is a major safety issue, but again the city needs to do their part too.

Transportation Services will clear this when they can. It is on the list.
