Description
while your lanes are green, the left hand light blinks yellow, if you think your going to get a green arrow when the light turns yellow. while your wrong cause it's doesn't turn green, very dangerous! if something have been running one way for for years and you change it, well expect more accidents. ever since they put in those lights that run of camaras, i have almost got into 2or 3 accidents at that light! FIX IT!

I wrote about this corner quite a while ago and nothing has changed. Has anyone heard of anything on here being fixed. I thought the lights in Oakland County were bad when they changed those over, but the Macomb ones are much worse. I get terrified when I see them getting ready to do more, like 22 and Vandyke.

These type of lights are popping up all over Shelby Twp. The blinking yellow is a terrible idea and is only causing more accidents. I work near 23 and Schoenherr and see many accidents at the intersection. Today it was closed for sometime for a bad accident. I agree "FIX IT"

Lawyers know all about it
its called the Yellow Trap
Google it
the cameras are there for the engineers to get a good laugh at the chaos they are causing

The new " intelligent" lights are inconsistent and go against what everyone is "used to" on the roads, therefore more accidents. . Shelby police reported over a 30% increase in traffic accidents during the first 3 months these were installed .

22 Mile and Hayes is heavily traveled with fast moving traffic and this schizophrenic array of traffic signals makes the situation frustrating and dangerous. First of all, aren't they missing some No Turn on Red Signs? People seem to be able to call their own shots on 22 Mile. But If you have to turn left, there is no way to have confidence in what those signals are directing, and how long they allot for it. What color is the arrow? What might it do next? No telling, and now you have a driver in the intersection against a red light. He has to figure out what's more risky---back up or try to finish the turn. Any thought that these lights would help traffic move more efficiently is laughable as you watch drivers sit there, uncertain what to do, or attempt to race up to make the turn. MTRC continues to say that drivers just have to learn; and that this is an adjustment stage. NO! The concept and execution of those traffic lights is just loony and unsafe.

I have been complaining and reading complaints forever and someone got killed at that corner and still it has not been studied for traffic safety. I cringe when I see them putting them at 22 and Vandyke and 22 and Schoenherr. I hope everyone is safe.

Pretty simple in my opinion. Green is go yellow proceed with caution and red I think means stop

Something is seriously wrong with the lights at this intersection. I'm not really fond of these "intelligent" lights but they do serve a purpose at certain lower traffic intersections. But the ones at 22 & Hayes are really messed up. I drive through here at least 4 to 6 times per day and every time I see cars backed up in all four directions while the left arrow is green...with absolutely no cars in the left turn lanes. Sure 22 & Hayes used to back up a little bit, usually coming up Hayes towards 22 and coming up 22 towards Hayes but since these lights were installed the back ups are just incredible on all four sides, especially during heavy traffic times. I don't see this with other intersections with these lights...just this one. Something isn't right here.
