Description
There is a gigantic pile of trash in the alley between the building at 55 Derby and the parking lot of the church next door. The pile must be 8 or 10 ft wide by 3-4 ft tall. I hope that it will be taken to the curb with the blue trash bins and cleared away by morning by sanitation workers. If not, this could be a health issue, not to mention an eyesore.

while the initial pile of trash has been somewhat cleared, the problem continues. What seems to have happened is that the trash was brought to the curb, but not all of it was in the blue bins or even properly bagged. Now the curb strip is littered with boxes, wrappers, and other bits of trash for approximately 30 ft. This stuff is blowing all around into neighbor's yards and is definitely having a negative impact on our neighborhood.
The residents and the owner of this property have a responsibility to make sure that garbage is properly managed. Sanitation workers have come by twice since I posted this, and the problem remains. What can be done about this? Does anyone want to come out and bag up the trash with me? I think that once we've done this, we should put it in their blue bins, where it belongs.

The trash has been picked up. Thanks to whoever did this! Let's hope that this doesn't happen again.
If the residents need more blue bins to contain their trash, they should call public works.
