Description
Charlotte pike tapers to 3 lanes (turning lane) out going from Lellyett to NASHVILLE WEST. I understand to widen this bottleneck would be very expensive but some day must be accomplished. In the whiole I suggest the utilization of the turning lane. Overhead lane signals could be used to direct traffic in the afternoon rush hours. Two lanes out and one in. Then reversing the proceedure during the morning incoming rush. Yes, there would be initial confusion with those turning but I have faith in the people to adapt.
This proceedure seems to work comimg in a couple of instances on the East side of the river.
