I tripped, stumbled and fell on Friday, 4/22/16. This time I got hurt. I took an ambulance to the ER, was seen in the ER, and now need a home health aide while I recover. I am going to sue the City for medical and related expenses. There were witnesses that took photos.
I had forgotten about the pavement problem and was proceeding normally instead of avoiding this patch.
By the time I got home on Friday it was too late to notify the City and file a claim, so that will be done first thing Monday morning. I'm going to make it easier and cheaper for the City to do downtown street repairs than to neglect them.

I notice that the nearby sidewalk was inspected on Monday, per another person's complaint, but still nothing on this one.

I have gotten a big runaround from the Mayor's office, and the City Clerk's office.. wrong e-mail addresses given to me, wrong forms.. etc.
I'm told by the doctor that the rib separation is permanent.

Do you get the feeling, like I do that they just don't care? They don't care about the appearance of downtown, the safety of downtown, or people's injuries.. they did say they would get their lawyer right on it.

You know, an injured person is not up to full capacity to deal with all this run around.. there should be someone who facilitates stuff like this.. an advocate.. Downtown is not in compliance with the ADA.

Maybe it is time to see a lawyer.
