My yard drain has been crushed by the growing tree roots. The city contractor replacing the sidewalk said they cannot fix it and that I need to contact the city to have it repaired. I laid a 3" drain pipe before they poured the sidewalk so that it can be easily connected to without ripping out the sidewalk again to repair. Can the city repair the drain and join to the new pipe I laid under the sidewalk (approximately 30" from the edge of driveway and 6" below rope of sidewalk)? If not, can the city provide grinding of the surface tree roots so I can lay new pipe in?
