This issue was looked into upon receipt and determined that the pond in question is privately owned and not maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation. FDOT is the primarily contributor of both untreated storm-water and sediment to this privately maintained pond prior to discharge to the aquifer thru a county owned sinkhole.

The county is a secondary contributor because of CR95 discharges and even charges the property owner for storm-water basin maintenance via their recently enacted storm-water tax system.

The pump is designed to lower the amount of time CR 95 is underwater after a major storm event

Does the property owner need to put both FDOT and the County on notice ??

Please ask the County storm-water department take another look at the issue

Florida Department of Transportation Maintenance Department and Pinellas County responded pond is privately owned by the pharmacy and we are not involved with the maintenance. I understand Mr. Landon is a PE and has concerns regarding this pond, however it should be the responsibility of the property owner to maintain.
