Description

Washington Ave is clearly marked as for bike traffic only, and that all traffic must turn (or must not turn, from cross streets) and yet, I constantly see people driving down. I flag them down and ask if they saw the 30 signs telling them that they're not allowed to drive there, and they invariably say "what signs? I didn't see any signs." Metro Transit regularly has lazy patrol units out parking on this street, supposedly to keep people from driving there, but I have watched people drive right past them, and they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. Can we set up some cameras and some flashing lights to warn people that they will receive a ticket in the mail? It seems to work for the HOV lane on the freeway. It would be way more cost effective than wasting taxpayer money having police block the road and do nothing for hours at a time.
