Description

Maine DOT's project on the bridge has created issues when turning onto Union Street from the ramp (right turn only). The chain link fence on the Jersey barriers is part of it, but the tall piles left uncut are the biggest issue here. There are not many Bangor intersections that I consider "dangerous", but this one definitely is. The speed and traffic volume on Union are too high to have only about 20-25 feet of visibility. The best solution would be to cut the top of the piles. Other solutions would include stationing a flagger during daylight hours (at night you can see headlights coming) or installing a signal.
