Description
All of the traffic lights need to be assessed for their current timing especially those that experience high traffic during rush hour: Charlotte/I-40, Bell Rd./I-24, etc. The timing on these lights needs to be adjusted to allow better track flow in peak hours. Throughout the city, the entire grid needs to be reviewed. There is too much traffic for the current timing of lights, get an engineer to review them! Lastly, the use of blinking red/yellow lights should be utilized at night when traffic is light.

Metro Public Works has been working on a Signal Optimization Project since 2004 to address traffic flow through out the county. Metro Public Works maintains over 800 intersections, and they are monitored for efficiency year round. If there is a specific location that you would like to have checked for back ups, or other issues please let us know by calling our customer service center at 615-862-8750 or emailing us at www.customer.care@nashville.gov.
We will have our signal shop check the locations listed to make sure they are operating properly.
