Description
When the storm drains on Holley Place were moved and the street was repaved the new one on the even side is on the corner and the run of goes right past is and across the street. The ones on the odd side get clogged up all the time and all that water then pools up and head down Holley Place toward Riverside, in that process a lot of water ends up going into my driveway, into my backyard and into my basement. Please fix this ASAP. During the rain storm after the Hurricane I have 5 inches of water flooding my yard.

So after the rain on Oct 4th I came home to find my yard flooded and water in my basement again. Here are the emails from the City of Torrington about this issue. My favorite part is "The lack of slope and the low reveal on the driveway apron is contributing to the water..." When Holley Place was torn up and repaved, they put in a new reveal.

Good Morning Ed,
After conferring with the Engineering department, it appears that the issue is not with the storm drain however but with the condition of the driveway. The lack of slope and the low reveal on the driveway apron is contributing to the water being allowed to simply stream from the road directly to your driveway and yard beyond. In addition, it is felt that the wheel rut area that exists on the driveway should be built up with gravel to keep the water out of the driveway as well.
Certainly when we experience heavy levels of rain as we have over the past year or so this amount of water will always find a place to go, however making adjustments to your driveway will certainly help to curtail this.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Tim

In the rain tonight the storm drain on Holley Place failed again and when I got home I found my backyard flooded and going into my basement.
Can we please get together and try to get this resolved?
